"I had been wanted to paint my own interpretation of Cleopatra dropping her pearl earring into a glass of wine to seduce the Roman General Marc Anthony for some time, and was given the opportunity to do so in mural form in Glasgow in 2021. As the mural was temporary it had always been an intention to create the work as a painting on canvas but also published as a print given the fact that the mural is now no longer in existence."
