The origins of Black Indian Ink derive originally from the Far East. It was later shipped to India and then on to Europe where the term "Indian Ink" was adopted, a staple prerequisite of any artist.   Snug's black and gold "Ink Beetle" echoes the beautiful ornamentation and culture of ancient India with the body of a vintage ink bottle. The connection to the beetle is a gentle nod to the award winning design by Michael Peters OBE of his iconic "gentleman spider" depicted on the side of Winsor & Newton's Black Indian Ink bottle of the early 70's.
